#OpAmaZonaSave 2.0 Success !!! #Iberoamerica ,#OperationgreenRights continue the fight with Kayapo and local communities in Brazil against the Belo Monte dam.
The government of Brazil is responsible for the Belo Monte dam project on Xingu River. If the dam will be build Kayapo people's lands will be flood and the river will be irreversibly damaged. The entire amazonian ecosystem would be upset with irreparable consequences all over the world. In Amazonia, Guatemala, Patagonia mega-dams threaten the existence of ancient and peaceful people. Anonymous, Operation Green Rights and Iberoamerica fight against this ethnic cleansing pursued in the name of the filthy and evil profit.
The Belo Monte hydroelectric project plans to build the third world's largest dam in the middle of the Amazon, Brazil. With an output of more than 11,000 Megawatts, flooding 500 square kilometers of jungle, moving from home to over 16,000 indígenas. The flow reduction of Xingu and its tributaries will directly affect the native population that lives and uses this water to survive, in addition to the irreparable damage to the flora and fauna of the river and the flooded area. Along with the indigenous population that will be affected directly, is a tribe that lives in complete isolation, so the mere contact with outsiders will expose them to unknown and potentially deadly disease to them.
The impact increases, because they will employ more than 20,000 workers in the construction of this dam, this alters the daily lives and safety of the natives, as a mini-city will be installed in its territory, bringing erosion, garbage, disease and crime.
A delegation of Indians entered the Presidential Palace to deliver a petition signed by half a million people, which calls the new president of Brazil Dilma Roussef to halt the "disastrous" dam.
The Indians also delivered a letter signed by more than 78 civil society organizations that warns of the enormous risks involved in the dam project and calls for halt.

If built, the Belo Monte Dam would cause widespread devastation to the forest from which the natives depend for survival. The Indians have organized large demonstrations against the dam and warned that if construction begins, the Xingu could become a "river of blood."
Last month, Brazil's environmental agency, IBAMA, issued a building permit partial of the dam, which allows, among other things, clearing vast areas of forest, despite the numerous violations of human and environmental rights, and this entails of the overwhelming opposition of local people. Even though the building consortium, North Energy, does not meet many of the social and environmental conditions required for granting the license.
Felicio Pontes Jr. The prosecutor said: "After decisions like this, we can describe the IBAMA as the biggest violator of the Amazon environment."
A recent report by the NGO International Rivers and Friends of the Earth-Brazilian Amazon warns that the Belo Monte project involves significant social risks, environmental, legal and financial.

Western intrusion brings a sociological and anthropological problem of proportions for the native peoples.
The technology and methods of remediation do not match with the second decade of the eleventh century's tecnologhy. It is a story that runs in South America, as was the Hidroaysén project in Patagonia, lower costs and rely on minimal oversight by the state, these hydroelectric projects make a threat to the environment of virgin regions or regions populated by its original inhabitants.
Are we willing to see pass away thousands of hectares of native forests for alleged energy need that can be covered with sustainable development? Are we willing to witness this predation in exchange for 20 or 30 years of useful life of this dam? Is it the best and only solution to energy problems? We know that it is not. There are alternatives, and the state must ensure compliance with national and international standards.
It's time to do something, to support indigenous people and to avoid large-scale ecological damage that ultimately affects us all.
Anonymous will not stay idle.

MESSAGE FOR Brazilian Government

The destruction of nature and ancient cultures is intolerable.
Brazilian Government, Norte Energia : the 18th article of ONU's declaretion of indigenous people's rights imposes you to consult the KAYAPO people community about your Xingu river mega-dam project, but you've never done it.So it's a KAYAPOS's right to refuse your dam. Anonymous, Iberoamerica and Operation Green Rights stand united with the Kayapo people against your disastrous project. Your project will cause irrepairable damage to the environment and the life that inhabits it, including the indigenous peoples. The Amazon is our planet's carbon filter, destroying it would only increase our current climate problems, something that no amount of money can fix. Our protest will persist until you put an end to this dam's construction and we will continue to fight against anyone who persecute South America's ethnic groups. We are monitoring every part involved in the project.
   WE ARE LOOKING AT YOU!
